1958 Chevrolet Delray 2 Door Sedan Power Steering - Power Brakes You are viewing a privately owned 1958 Chevrolet Delray 2dr Sedan! Classic Cars Online is helping the owner with this eBay listing. You will be purchasing this vehicle directly from him, the current owner. He purchased this vehicle in April, 2010. He then had it shipped from California to Ohio at that time. According to the VIN number, this vehicle was built at Chevrolet's Oakland, CA assembly plant. We can only assume that the vehicle spent its first 52 years in California before it made its way over to Ohio. This is not a perfect 100 point show car. It is a very nice solid vehicle that is mechanically sound and can been driven and enjoyed. Please read and view all of the 58 pictures listed in the photo gallery below. Click on each picture to make them larger. Would you buy a car on eBay with four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO. That is why at Classic Cars Online, our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up for auction. Bid with confidence! Description Written by Owner! Body & Paint: The vehicle has been painted three times over the years. Currently it is painted what looks like "Rio Red" which is a 1958 Delray color. The paint is shinny but does have some orange peel and specs of dust in the paint in a few areas. There are no dents or scratches. It looks to have all it's original body panels and floor pans. The only patch repair that I can see is above the left rear wheel. There is no rust or weak areas showing. Solid California vehicle. The front fenders do have some waviness and a few elbow marks on the top area. It has been nosed and decked. Two 1961 Chevrolet style antennas were added. An old antenna removal mark can still be seen on the left fender. There are a few nicks and chips in the paint that can be easily touched. Chrome & Trim: All of the chrome items are in very good condition. Both bumpers were rechromed and are California "One Piece" bumpers. They look good with only the front bumper having some scratches on the top center section. The chrome door handles, taillights houses and outside mirrors are all in very nice shape. The stainless steel trim pieces are in excellent condition. The trim looks like someone took the time of having them straighten and polished. The only piece that has a ding is over the right rear taillight. It doesn't look like all the trim was removed when the vehicle was last painted. The headlight bezels along with the front grille are also in great condition. Interior: The interior was completely redone. It has a custom look that is done with two tone tan and brown vinyl. (Done in California) The seats, door panels, carpet and headliner are all in excellent condition. No rips, holes, marks or other problems. The seats do not appear to be original to the vehicle. The radio was upgraded to JVC AM/FM. A new wiring harness was installed behind the dash. The lights, gauges, odometer/speedometer and horns are all working fine. The wipers have a new vacuum motor. This new vacuum motor is still having some issues. Glass: All of the glass pieces including the windshield are still original to the vehicle. The windshield does have a few stone chips. The trim around the windshield is nice, but the rubber seal has some cracks. The side glass rolls up and down without any problems. They do not have any cracks but are starting to show some separation. The original window felt is worn. Wheels & Tires: All four tires are in great condition. The front tires are Continental 195/65-15 mounted on 15x6 American Racing wheels. The rear are 235/60-15 mounted on 15x7 American Racing wheels. These wheels are in very nice shape with no scratches, marks, or oxidation. Trunk: The trunk compartment was upholstered and carpeted to match the interior. It is clean and show ready. A new spare tire along with a jack and jacking tools are all present. Chassis - Frame & Undercarriage: The frame is straight and solid. (California vehicle up until 2010) The body mounts, rocker panels, and floor pans are original and solid. The undercarriage is clean but not detailed. The brake and fuel lines are new. A new fuel tank was installed also. Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why we took a few pictures of the bottom. No undercoating hiding weak or problem areas. Engine Compartment: Under the hood sits a rebuilt 327 cu. in. 1964 Corvette engine. The engine compartment is detailed and looks great. The under side of the hood and inner fenders are clean and shinny. The belts, hoses, and battery are all new. See more about this power plant under the "Mechanical" section. A new wiring harness was also installed in the engine compartment. Mechanical: Engine: The 327 cu. in. engine is stamped with a 1964 Corvette number. It was rebuilt in California with new pistons, cam and bearings. It runs strong with an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor. New plugs, wires, belts, water pump and fuel pump. The engine does not leak, tick, smoke or over heat. Transmission - Rear End: The transmission is a rebuilt '66 Muncie M21 close ratio 4-speed. A new Hurst floor shifter was installed. The rear end is a stock non-posi with 3.55:1 gears. There are no problems with the transmission and rear end. It shifts smooth with out any noise. Brakes: Power Brakes! The rear brakes are drums with self adjusters. The fronts are Classic Performance Products (CPP) 12" Camero with Chevelle calipers. New brake lines and brake hoses. The brake system is working great. They do not pulsate, pull, fade or make any noise. The parking brake is also working correctly. Suspension: Power Streering! All new springs CPP 2" dropped spindles, new bushings, ball joints and shocks. Air shocks in the rear. The vehicle sits nice and drives even better. No problems or noises with this suspension. Exhaust: The vehicle has a dual stainless steel exhaust system. It runs from the factory exhaust manifolds back to chrome tips that exit just under the rear bumper. No holes, leaks or problems. It sounds great. Reserve Price: Please don't ask what the "Reserve Price" is, or if we have a "Buy it Now" price. If you like this '58 Chevrolet, please call us with an offer.
